ISS and the Supply Chain organization have partnered to support GW's Bulk Buy, which allows University departments to purchase desktops, laptops, and software at a discount from University-approved vendors - Dell, Apple, and Microsoft.
By participating in the Bulk Buy, your department will experience reduced support costs due to the standardization of computer models. The makes and models of the Bulk Buy align with GW's Faculty Workstation Initiative (FWI) and Student Technology Initiative (STI).
Departments will also be able to purchase software products from Microsoft at a discount through the University's site license programs.

Docking stations, monitors, and other accessories can also be bundled into the purchase for an additional cost. Printers and scanners are also available at a discount price.
Software
ISS currently offers Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise and 2003 Professional, Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional at discounted rates to GW faculty and staff for use on University-owned workstations.

Microsoft Office 2007 is available for $85 per workstation - a significant discount over the standard academic price of $150.

Microsoft Office 2003 is available for $65 per workstation - a significant discount over the standard academic price of $129.
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, which is normally offered for $99, is available for $60 per workstation.

When is the next bulk buy?
Bulk purchases occur in January, April, July, and October. The next bulk purchase models will be posted on July 7th, 2008 and orders will be placed from July 7th, 2008 to July 31st.
