Microsoft Corporation has released the latest Windows operating system, Vista, to eventually replace Windows XP and 2000. However, Vista should not be purchased by any administrative departments or individuals for use at GW.  

Faculty members should note that Vista is not currently supported for use on the GW network or to access GW enterprise systems such as EAS, Banner, or Blackboard. Any use of Vista at this time is at the user's risk.

Vista is currently being tested for use at GW in order to assure compatibility and appropriate security. GW will notify the user community once Vista has been certified for use at the University. When it is certified for use at GW, Vista will be available for purchase at a significantly discounted rate through Information Systems and Services. Information on the Microsoft licensing agreement or other centralized purchasing efforts can be found online.
